HASINA MAULA MULANI

I got married when I was only eleven years old. I delivered one baby after another and soon became the mother of four children. Situation was critical and I had to do something to support my family. My husband was slaughterer and I decided to support him . That is when I came across SHGs run by Mata Balak Utkarsha Pratishthan. I borrowed sum of Rs 5000 / - from SHG by the name “Amruta” where I am a member. We opened a meat shop where my husband used to do the slaughtering and I handled the selling activity. The situation improved. We again borrowed money and purchased a Jersy cow and followed by another one. My children were growing and I needed funds as my son wanted to do the course for becoming Corporator. With the backing of MBUP we got the funds and he completed the course . However he was unable to secure a job. We sent him to Mumbai where he got a job of supervisor and subsequently he got married as well. Today he and his family is living a happy life.

My daughter got married when she was in eleventh standard. It was a marriage in a haste and with a very little thought. Soon she had to separate from her husband. The “Maitrin” family counseling wing of MBUP provided her the necessary mental support during these difficult times. She was pursued to complete 12 th standard and we decided that she should do D. Ed. course. Again with MBUP's help we could get Rs 10000/- at the right time.

I purchased flour mill from loan provided by State Bank of India and currently it is running very well.

An election was announced and our villagers requested me to contest for the post . Due to the encouragement from Sangeeta Gaikwad and the various trainings I received from MBUP I could fight this election successfully. Today I am proud to have taken the charge of the Deputy to Village head of Wadhegaon.

Before this election we had demanded for the construction of road upto Sandasmala which we were able to get done by pursuing all the concerned political leaders. This achievement has improved our self – confidence. Lastly I would like to mention that MBUP and its SHGs have transformed my life from an ordinary woman to a successful business woman, a leader of the village and a responsible person committed to the upliftment of the society.
